I need SAT Writing and Reading help.

i decided not to do prep classes because i heard they're a waste of money.
i got a 680 on the reading
i got a 640 on the writing :(
that killed my overall score. i expected higher on the writing. as for reading i wasn't surprised to see a 680.
my math is fine. i got a 760 on that.
i'm a junior and i just recieved this. i 'm going to retake it in fall.
but i need a 2250 or above. and i know doing that is really difficult. but i know that the writing is a lot easier to improve than the reading. so please help me!! i just want a 700-750 on the reading. and a 750 or above the writing.
please reply! thanks.

well my essay was pretty bad. i got an 8 out of 12 :( but i don't know why that happened. i take AP english. and i get like 8 and 9s all the time on my essays.
so i need suggestions for my essay.
as for the multiple choice. i don't know what happened,. when i took the practice test i got like 750s and above. and i always gave my essays 4 out 6 on the practice ones just in case i do bad.
and i have noticed that on the practice tests i always miss questions from the improving sentences questions.
and usually one from improving paragraphs.

i kind of zoned out in the middle of the reading sections.... i tend to do that a lot. i did that on the PSAT but i got a 70.... then i just start skimming then everything gets confusing... then i just yeah....

How are we supposed to help you ?If you have some WR question ,post it here :)

seriously i need some help!!!

Do you have a sample essay I could read? I could then point out specific areas to work on for the essay section. If you have trouble with improving sentences, then take some time to do extra review of [SAT grammar rules](<a href=“http://■■■■■■■■■■■■/w/grammar-rules"]SAT”>http://■■■■■■■■■■■■/w/grammar-rules), then do some focused practice. You can also read this and rethink how you approach improving sentences questions: [SAT Writing | Improving Sentences - The Approach - ■■■■■■■■](http://■■■■■■■■■■■■/w/improving-sentences/approach)

For critical reading, it sounds like your main problem is losing focus. First, I would suggest you make it a mental point to carefully read the first and last sentences of each paragraph. Second, I would recommend writing down on your test the main idea of each passage. This will help keep you engaged with the passage.

PM me if you have any questions…I hope this helped!

sat essays are way different than ap essays…

ppl have told me repeatedly that there are 3 things you need to do to get a decent score on the essay

fill both pages … with nonsense…with anything, you can even write big!

use some “big” words… just words that may seem impressive to the grader

come up with several “universal” examples from literature, history, personal experience, etc… that can be applied to anything

well and then just write a decent essay and you should do fine! i get 10s or better consistently if i do this… thank jebus for standardized testing!!! :D
