In case anyone's wondering, I got my rejection letter from UW on April 1st last year. Yeah, sucked.

At least if I get my rejection letter in April I can be melodramatic and yell "April is the cruelest month!" all day..

Looking on the bright side.

I'm trying not to be too depressed about it, because I have gotten into every other college I've applied to, and a lot of them are good schools and I will probably be somewhat happy wherever I got. But I really, really wanted to live in Seattle and go to the University of Washington!

If you are unsure as to where you are at in the process, call their offices and ask to speak to an admissions counselor. I checked on my son's app in late January to find out that they were closing his app due to lack of SAT/ACT scores. We had requested that they be sent rush and spoke to an admissions counselor who told us exactly what to do and what to say. He had to write a formal letter requesting that they re-open his application. In the interim they received his scores, but he still had to send in the letter. By early march they reopened his application and the next week he received his acceptance letter.

So, call the admissions office first chance you have!

^ Oh my gosh, I can't believe you got rejected. Your stats seem fine and you have so many extra curriculars. I'm so sorry, and hopefully you have another place to go next year.

Wow. How'd you get rejected? There's lots of kids at my school with lower GPA and SAT scores than you and they got in... That's really odd.

rejected
3.8 with 2100 sat

just kidding
rejected with 2.9/1980 (1340)

i am facing the same problem; i wrote them and i'm still waiting for their reply.

Yea this stuff is puzzling. At my school, there have been so many people who have gotten in with below 1700s SATs and below 3.6 GPAs, Its ridiculous.

Man you guys gotta chill, I got in with like a 1600 on NEW sat and a 3.45 gpa, also took all honor and ap but I don't do the whole class rank thing. If you just chill and do your work in school and not stress about all these academic things, you will be okay. Sometimes I wonder if this whole ranking other students above others and honors stuff is really healthy for society, putting all this pressure on the young teens of today. Sorry not trying to be a jerk just expressing my way of thinking lol. I think if you take honors and ap that's what you really helps you in the long run.
