Do they look at your CEGEP transcript or do they also factor the high school report?

Thanks.

Do they look at your CEGEP transcript or do they also factor the high school report?

Thanks.

They will require both.

What if I had decent (or average) high school grades due to several reasons (I’ve had a few problems, many in fact…) and a stellar CEGEP transcript? How will they evaluate this? I’m currently in grade 11 and I’m really panicking about my high school record so far. Over here, grade 11 is the end of high school and CEGEP is next. I’m planing of performing exceedingly well in CEGEP…

*I’m referring more specifically to US universities.

bump…
…

I believe that they’ll look at your cumulative high school + cegep career. But as long as your show an upward trend in marks…

Nonetheless, do well in grade 11. “Planning on performing exceedingly well in CEGEP” indicates that you’ve already given up on this year. That’s not the proper thinking you should have.

So they look at your last semester of your 9th,10th and 11th grade, right? We don’t have any cumulative average. Also, here’s what my high school grades so far look like:

9th grade: All A’s and 1 B

10th grade: Mostly B’s, few B+'s and C’s (My performance was greatly affected due to multiple issues - still ongoing)

11th grade (expected): Mostly A’s, 1 or 2 B’s.

I have been dealing with a lot of personal issues since the last few months and have been also diagnosed with several mood disorders. Will I be able to explain my downfall when applying to universities? That’s one of the main reasons I’m looking forward to perform well in CEGEP (IB program) and add some extracurricular activities to my resume, so hopefully I’ll be able to show growth.

bump…

bump…

Seriously, depending on witch high school you’re going to, most people go downward in CEGEP… Especially if your taking the IB program which will be so much harder than the normal programs. If you did not take IB in high school, you’ll be surprised at the load of work.

Personally, I took IB in high school, and even so, the program (no IB) I’m in now is so much more work. I can only imagine the number of assignments for IB CEGEP…

CEGEP + IB = death in my opinion xD
But then again, it will depend on the CEGEP you choose
