So i am supposed to go drinking with my friends this saturday and it's my first time

Help. I am not scared or anything. I am looking forward to it. But maybe i am just paranoid or something but how much do you think one night of drinking can affect my mental performance? Will it slow me down in school work? Will i lose a signficant amount of brain cells? I have a solid talent for writing. Do you think drinking may affect that? Just one night. Nothing habitually of course. Will i lose my 136 IQ? I have obviously drunk before. I just never got drunk. Help!

Alcohol affects the brain in proportion to how much you drink. A moderate amount every now and then probably won’t affect you that much. But getting drunk is just stupid. and if you need to get drunk to make your friends accept you or be cool or whatever then you need some new ones… Some articles to explore-

[Brain Damage Caused by Alcohol Consumption](Alcohol Addiction)

I am certainly not going to be binge drinking. Just drinking enough to get drunk, which isn’t alot. Then we’ll be headed to a bar for hookah. haha

Is hookah smoking? I don’t know why anyone would get drunk and then smoke but everyones different I guess.

But if you have concerns about any of this you should probably go on Google or Google Scholar to get answers. Not many people on HSL are doctors or even close to becoming one.

haha, getting drunk definitely makes your IQ drop by several hundred thousand points. I saw it on New York Times.

ur gunna git retardid

When you plan for these kinds of activities, something’s already gone wrong with your IQ…

Man up, because if you’re drinking a Miller Lite without great Pilsner taste… hahaha that’s what first came to mind reading this.

Ok, if you’re a high schooler with an IQ of 136 I think you already know the answer. I personally think it’s fine if you drink in moderation, have fun, and if you stay away from a car, handgun, or skyscraper.

Plus IQ isn’t a definite indication of knowledge. So don’t worry about a number.

136 isn’t that good

@aStyle - What if you live in a skyscraper or similarly tall building? raises hand … are you saying you shouldn’t go home if you’re drunk?

If drinking was that bad for you, why do smart people do it? Okay well smart people can be stupid sometimes, but keep in mind that everything should be taken in moderation. Don’t give in to peer pressure, just have a few drinks. As for the hookah, I’ve heard that its close to as bad as smoking if you use tobacco instead of molasses. I could be wrong though - I read this stuff over a year ago. Just be safe. It’s like driving a car, when you’re in doubt, hit the brakes.

When you’re in doubt, don’t drink anymore or don’t smoke or go home a bit early. Be smart. Drinking can change how you act now, but you’ll always be smart (unless you are a chronic drinker).

Obvious ■■■■■ is obvious.

Do you think any addicts ever try something for the first time with the mindset that they are going to continue the habit (and perhaps end up addicted)?

Everybody tries something new saying, “just this one time.” Very few of them remain within that limit.

You could have just said nothing and we wouldn’t have to worry about the “■■■■■”. ;)

^The last time i have done hookah was 6 months ago. The last time i drank was 5 months ago. I think i know what im talking about. I have that much discretion.

■■■■■ I am not a ■■■■■. You may go through my posts and may find stupid stuff. But hey, who can blame me? I like to have fun.

“So i am supposed to go drinking with my friends this saturday and it’s my first time” –> “I have obviously drunk before. I just never got drunk.”

Just spare yourself and give up drinking altogether. It already seems to be having detrimental effects.

Please elucidate.

The word “drunk” was used as a verb and a state of condition in both sentences. Were you confused with the wording?

It also seems evident that you ignored post 15 entirely.

Elucidate is an sat word
