So, I couldn't go to orientation

But I've kept pretty much on top of everything and have had my material's request for awhile. I talked to an advisor and then used web registration yesterday. Just to clarify, if I registered online and my "Registered classes" on OASIS is correct, I do NOT need to go to open registration, right?

correct =)

thank you :)

How do you request for materials?

The request for materials ended last August 1st.
You will now have to go to the Orientation office to pick up the material.
Email orient@usc.edu for more info

Were you able to get the classes that you wanted/needed ?... I didn't atten orientation either and I have to register tomorrow, and I'm wondering if I'll still be able to get the classes I need or want... thanks

I actually got lucky with my classes.
I got the last open spot in the math class that I needed, a Cat I class that also satisfies diversity requirement, and two other classes in my major.
You can check the availability of the classes through web registration...

I called Marshall today and asked to speak with an advisor to set up my classes and the guy told me I couldn't do that online. He said I'd have to go to an orientation on the 22nd and set up my classes that way... do you have the address of the web registration ?

Wow really? I wish I could have attended orientation.
Web registration is accessible via my.usc.edu/portal
Username and pass is same for your USC email account.
I checked the orientation website and there is no orientation on the 22nd..
Is Marshall administering that orientation that you mentioned?

yes, there are no more scheduled orientation dates on that website, but apparently Marshall does have one scheduled.

In fact, if you go to the website to plan your first week, they have 2 sessions for orientation, one on the 21st and one on the 22nd. The man I spoke with scheduled me for the 22nd one.

I'm just really worried I won't get the classes I need to graduate in time. I'll get my schedule 3 days before classes start... Every popular/required class must be booked up already..

I checked out that web registration website, but I have no idea what classes I need to include in my schedule for my degree... I'm really, really worried about this...

Did they send you an email with the presentation links for those people who did not attend orientation?
If not, call the Marshall office again and see if they can email it to you so you are not left in the dark wondering what your faith will be when you can finally register...

Are you a transfer student?
If you are, then you can probably look at your Transfer Credit Report and see how they gave you credit for the classes you took.
If you are a freshman, you might be luckier because there's still a bunch of open GE classes although they might not necessarily be the one that you'd like to take.

There's also the option to waitlist yourself in the classes that you really want. Only exception that I have seen so far are the BUAD classes. They won't allow you to petition for those.

Read up on the USC Catalogue, 2008-2009
for the requirements of your major so you can have an idea of what classes you can take.

No, I haven't received an email from them about that orientation... I will definitely call Marshall tomorrow and see if they can help me out a little with this...

I am a transfer student. Thanks for your pm too, it has been answered!
