I just bombed my biology final, which brought my year grade to a b+. I’m incredibly disappointed with myself, especially because I want to go into biomedical engineering! I was so close to getting straight A’s. I got 1 b freshman year and three b+'s sophomore year. My question is: how will my constant B’s affect my chances at schools like Yale, MIT, Cornell, Penn, and Columbia? I’m planning on applying through Questbridge (minus Cornell, of course) and I have good EC’s with leadership, good test scores, and my teacher praised my personal statement essay. I’m also a low income first generation student. Will my not-so-perfect GPA be detrimental for my chances at these schools? I can go into more detail if necessary. Thank you for any help! I’m just really shaken up and panicky at this point, a great start to the summer!
You’re fine
Relax and wait till junior year
You know, if Bs = failure, they wouldn’t exist. It would just be A and F, nothing in between. Your grades are still high. Ivies don’t require utter perfection to attend, they want an excellent whole picture.
