And i got a 5 on the Ap chem test and a 800 on the subject test

How much will this help me out if my intended major is in the science field.

Not at all, sorry.

…

But seriously, what do you think the answer could be? For whatever colleges you’re applying to, see if they require SAT II scores, and google “college name” + common data set to see how important standardized test scores are.

Is this a thinly-veiled plea for compliments?

pfft thats horrible I got a 2 on the ap and 650 on the subject test :P

If you are looking for congratulations, then congratulations.

AP scores are largely meaningless; good for placement not admission. SAT II will help.

At colleges that require or consider SAT IIs (minority), the SAT II score will obviously help. At colleges that do not consider SAT IIs (majority), that score will mean nothing. The AP score helps a little for some, means nothing at others.

Disagree on both counts. Strong scores help; they may help a little (even at colleges that don’t require them) or a lot, but they help. It’s no different than sending 4 800’s when only two are required.

It depends. Some colleges/universities use the AP test score for placement, so you can skip introductory courses that would otherwise waste your time (most likely. I hold firm to the belief that it’s a good idea to take them anyways). Some science courses of certain colleges require you to take certain SAT II test, so that 800 will help for that part.

NYU allows you to submit 3 AP test scores instead of the SAT and two SAT II scores for admission.

Chances are OP would get admitted to any school that does not consider or ask for SAT II’s if the rest of his academic record correlates with his chemistry scores. Obviously, your scores are strong and will help you in admissions.
