So I was using torrents at my home. I went to campus to study for about 2 hours but I forgot to close the service, Azureus. It wasn't downloading anything, but it was most likely doing some uploads. Am I in deep ****? I'm still here on campus and my internet is still working. Am I screwed here or is will I be fine?

you are going to get a huge bill for your uploads …

I think they’ll give you a warning. A sibling of mine attends another UC and got a warning after they had a torrent on for a while. I’m not sure about UCSD specifically though.

You mean seeding? I don’t think azureus does uploading. And if whatever your seeding isn’t popular you shouldn’t be using that much bandwidth.

UCSD does not care if you torrent since torrents can be used for legitimate file sharing too. The only way you’ll have a problem is if the MPAA/RIAA/whoever sends a notice to UCSD that you were downloading copyrighted material (and hopefully only does that and doesn’t sue you), and in that case I think all they do is suspend your internet access and make you go to ACMS and attend some copyright protection lecture.
