So I Wandered onto Pioneer...and now i'm FREAKING OUT!

AHHHHHHHHH! they say they haven't received my preliminary application. i don't even know what that is, i assume its the supplement because in their explanation it says what they asked, and it was the supplement question. AM I RIGHT??

RIght, and anyhow they haven't received it, BUT on commonapp it says it's downloaded which means they have received it, RIGHT?

AHHHHHHHHH, i sent in all of my applications like a month before they were due, and now, AFTER THE DEADLINE, i'm freaking out. I didn't want to freak out which is why i sent my stuff in so early. AHHHHHH!

Please help! GIve me guidance, calm my nerves.

This is probably just a delay in updating the info on the Pioneer site. I would give admissions a call though, just to ease your mind. I dodn't remember a preliminary app for Grinnell. I remember Carleton and Oberlin had them and it was different from the supplements, just demographic kind of info that would open your file. But call admissions to make sure they've received everything.

the preliminary app IS their supplement
if you're nervous though, give them a call

and i don't know what pioneer is does that give us updates on our application? cause i never heard anyting about it... eek i sent my application in at the beginning of november

well...i didn't do a preliminarry app for carleton, and they say my app is complete so i dunno about that. but yea, i called, and it's all figured out.

pioneer is the website that shows the status of you application. they sent me a password and username by email. i got it a week after sent if my stuff at the end of december.

Thanks!

Don't freak. It took 4 weeks from the date they were sent to get S's SAT scores listed as received, and 3 weeks to have the teacher's rec and the school's info posted. I knew it wasn't possible for 3 things to have been 'lost' and sure enough, they were eventually posted (although not before the teacher faxed his rec).

I think they are just innundated: Other threads have mentioned the mid-western schools are receiving a surge in applications. No doubt Grinnell is swamped (and it probably doesn't take much to swamp a small school).

As above, call if you're worried.
