So I'm the Student Council Treasurer? What?

Senior Year

VARSITY Tennis (possibly Captain)
Green Club Co-President
Key Club President
Spanish Club (President if we have it)
Class Representative

Part-Time Job
College Courses
Some Volunteering

The question is I went to my class officer meeting since I'm a class representative and from the people that were there, we voted on pres, vp, sec, and treasurer or student council also. Well, I was elected Treasurer. I've NEVER been in Student Council and I don't know if I'm going to have enough time to do all my clubs, sports, maintain good grades, apply to colleges, search for scholarships, and have a job.

I've never really had any interest in the the whole Student Council thing and I've heard that it will look too superficial is you're in too many clubs because it looks like you're trying to do it JUST for college.

What should I do? Resign from Student Council or keep the position and try to do it since the treasurer doesn't have much work to do?

If I were you, I’d definitely keep the Student Council position. I’d love to be elected something, but at my school it’s all a popularity contest and even though I am really interested, I have no chance. There probably are/have been a lot of high school senior student council treasurers who do other clubs and college applications just like you will be doing. You might want to talk to last year’s treasurer and find out what the time commitments are before making a serious decision though.

It sounds like you don’t have time to do it. There’s no shame in resigning from something when you know that you lack the time to do a good job at it. Just resign early so that someone else can take it over with the time to make an impact.

The reason to resign is because you don’t have the time to do a good job. That’s a more important reason than how it would look to colleges if you have an impossible-appearing list of offices.
