So I've got a 36.2% in AP Physics...

But I hired a tutor...

Do I drop it, or risk a B or a C?

And you ask this on the Princeton board because…?

Reported…

Drop it if you tried hard yet still have that grade. Stay in if you think you can improve significantly with effort.

@randombetch

I don’t know, maybe because I’m trying to get in here? And I traded it for Academic Decathalton. Is a 4.83 good enough?

Because you want to go here, you can ask whatever you want on this board?

What’s next, a topic about what car you should ask your dad to buy if you get into Princeton?

High school kids are getting dumber and dumber.

^Yeah, put this up under somewhere other than Princeton next time. My advice would be to drop it. A 36.2% with work done on your part means you just can’t do it. Take up something else.
And you had better have some damn good other grades on your transcript, you should have all A’s to have a chance at a school like Princeton. But please, next time, post in the appropriate forum.

^
Wait, does 1 B= rejected?

Uh oh…

1 B does not mean you’re rejected. It’s just that thousands of students have straight A’s so it won’t really help you… and you might need to make up for it. But if it’s an 89 it’s not TERRIBLE.

um, you have a failing grade in AP physics, and you think you’re ready for princeton?

Well, I don’t have any Calculus experience, so I guess it didn’t mean all that much. I dropped it. I want to major in Economics, will Princeton care if I don’t ever take AP Physics? I hate the math.

I’m a sophomore, by the way.

You can’t handle the math of AP physics and you want to major in economics at Princeton?

Do you have any idea what a real economics course is like?

The math needed for AP physics is elementary and trivial. The math needed to take upper level economics courses is not.

^
What about finance? Most people told me that Economics was a social science that involved very little math.

):

I think most people told you wrong.

You need to do better in courses like AP Physics, but don’t let this negativity hinder you in the least.

So now I have a somewhat deflated F in Chemistry…

Is it OK if I finish with a C for both semesters? Or a B/A? Or do I need As both semesters?

He lets me retake a test and I bombed the one lab that we had, so my grade is really more like a D, D+ right now. I can raise that to a C, then pass the AP exam or get a B. Alternatively, I could average a 90 the rest of the way, finish with a B-, pass the AP exam, get an A, and then somehow miraculously pull of an A for the next semester. This class is insane.

What if I get a B/A in Euro? I might not get a 5.

What about a B/A in math? (Honors Algebra 2/Trig)

Simply put, how many Bs can I get as a sophomore? I’m really bad at science. I’m taking Environmental Science next year, screw Physics.

You have an F in Chemistry and possibly B’s in Euro and Math? Oi. I would start considering schools like… NYU? UMich? Princeton is a little out of your league, bud.

^
I can pull off As in both of those, I’m just referencing the worst case scenario. I doubt that I pull off an A in chemistry for both semesters, though.

Post your crap on the general admissions board.
