So, just how garbage are by odds?

I'm a Biology major, currently attending Northeastern University. I'm applying to Cornell (several others as well, but Cornell's my big "reach" school) as a transfer, and I just want to get an opinion of what my chances are.

High School (In HS, I was planning to go into law right up until 2nd semester Freshman year, so my math/science background is rather weak)
3.67 GPA
AP Biology-5
AP English-4
AP US History-4
AP US Gov+Pol-4
AP English Literature-3
SATs:
730 Critical Reading
570 Math (probably disqualifies me right off the bat)
730 Writing
Biology: 760
US History: 710

EC's: (particularly pitiful)
-Mock Trial all four years; earned Varsity Letter, was a team leader, played the Defendant, witnesses, Cross-Examination, the timekeeper, and earned a Most Improved award
-Student Council

I helped run a campaign for State Representative from my town; I was responsible for signage and grassroots campaigning, in person and telephone.

I worked two jobs throughout: I was a file manager at an ophthalmology clinic and a food runner at a restaurant.

College:
3.45 first semester. It's higher this semester, but that obviously won't come into account in the transfer app.

EC's:
Pre-Med Club
Biology Club
Times New Roman humor magazine- writer, contributing editor
NUSTAND- human rights club

I also work in an Endocrinology research lab; I do animal care and remove brains and other important organs for study (Manduca sexta and tribolium, for anyone wondering), and have certified training in handling of dangerous chemicals and biologics, and non-radiation worker radiation safety

I'm sending in two recommendations, including the pre-med advisor, in addition to high school.

I think it all depends on how hard your classes were… I mean my application is kinda similar to yours except I’ve been in for longer and such (applying as a college soph now). Where are you applying besides cornell?

Fairly difficult, especially my science classes- my chem teacher in particular has a reputation for extremely difficult tests.

Except for Freshman year ( depression issues/teen angst which I got over by the end of the year, but still dragged my overall GPA down), I took all Honors and AP courses in high school.

I’m also applying to Bowdoin-which is even less likely, actually, as they only accept 20 or so transfers a year, even though I am in-state, Northeastern, Carnegie-Mellon, Boston College (which is my legacy school, father graduated magna cum laude), and maybe one or two others.

It wouldn’t be the end of the world or anything if I didn’t get in, as Northeastern is a pretty good school. Maybe not on CC, where anything less than Columbia is ****e, but I’d like to get into something better.

if you’re premed, don’t forget that the prestige of your undergrad school really don’t mean anything. I’ve heard of duke students not getting into any med schools, and SUNY students getting into ivy meds. If NEastern is boring or expensive and you want to leave, the world is your oyster besides those few elite schools
