I knew I was a bio major going to my CC but it’s just that my school is making it incredibly difficult to transfer.

These two classes: General Biology I and General Biology II

Are broken up into the following at my school:

Core Bio
Invert. Zoology
Vert. Zoology
Botany
Populations bio

Each of those is a separate class and are 4-5 units each. It’s ridiculous.

Now some UC’s, like UCSB require I take all of those except Populations to transfer. But for like UCR they want ALL of those courses. And at my school you need Core bio to take the 4 listed after that, and you can’t take Invert+Vert at the same time, and Botany is only offered in 1 semester, same with Populations. So yeah it’s a total *****.

Also I still haven’t finished Calc and some elective classes. It was all out of my control though, I messed up in 1st year by taking Genetics (a class that is worthless for transferring purposes) instead of Core Bio so it set me back by 1 semester but regardless I still would have been here for around 3 years.
