<p>How many of you are NOT goign to prom this year? If you're planning on not attending, then why? </p>
<p>I'm just curious how many other people like me there are out there! hehe. I'm not going (if you haven't already guessed). My reason happens to be the fact that I can't get a date, and i'm stubborn and refuse to go without a date. so there. What's your story?</p>
<p>Sorry, but that is the lamest reason ever! I would still go if I didn't have a date, OR, go with a gay friend. That's always a good option. Are your friends going, and do they all have dates? </p>
<p>And yes, I am going. I don't dance, and I'm not too girly but I am actually really anxious about my senior prom!</p>

<p>I'm not going because I don't like dances. I don't like dancing, the music they play or the environment. It seems to me like a lot of people go just because they feel obligated to.</p>
<p>I'm not going because 1) it's expensive, and 2) our actual prom has always been boring. I'm just going to skip the whole "prom" part and go to a party afterwards.</p>

<p>Yes, it's expensive and pointless. Why not just have a nice, intimate date with someone you like, instead of renting a ridiculous tux, et cetera? School dances are always so tacky.</p>
<p>I'm on student council so I have to set up for prom, attend, and break it down. And it's my senior prom!! I don't want to have to clean up. I want to go to parties! But even if I wasn't on student council, I would still want to go! Even though I don't have a date <em>yet</em> I'd still go. I'm even having my dress MADE! No off-the-rack this year! Stoked.... How many chances do you get to go to senior prom?!</p>
<p>That sucks that you have to clean up. I'm on student council, student leadership rather, and all we have to do is set up, the chaperones get to take it down. I don't think i've ever stayed through the end of a dance.</p>
<p>I wouldn't want to spend 300$ on some party that I won't have fun at. I could save my money and do something so much more fun like going to a show. or If I really wanted to spend money I could drive down with my friends to tijuana. no silly dress and a "last call" that would be very cool.</p>
<p>I'm not (as far as I know) going to my prom because I have to go to a softball game that afternoon and will most likely not be back in time. Though I have next year, which is going to be awesome because my class is planning it.</p>
<p>i agree with many of the reasons given in peoples responses. yes, it is too expensive and I don't think i can afford to go (this year at least). Furthermore, I don't see the point in getting a really nice fancy dress (or tux if you're a guy) then grinding on the dancefloor in your big, poofy attire lol. It's just silly. In addition to that, I'm not big on rap or R&B music, seeing as that is all they play at school dances, I would need to bring earplugs if i decided to go. lol</p>

<p>I'm not going because my boyfriend is out of state. I'm trying to talk our parents into letting one of us go to the other for Prom.</p>
<p>I'm not going b/c at my school you NEED a date which is really dumb b/c I attend an all-girl parochial school. Yeah, I know it makes NO sense. Plus, it seems like a waste of money and I'm not into school dances. I'd rather spend time with a close group of friends.</p>

<p>anyways mine will be at the chrysler museum of art...which is great compared to where they said they were having it: the zoo lol .. i mean i guess it would be kinda cool to have your prom at the zoo...in a wierd unique way.. ~_^</p>
