Hey all,

As you can tell by the title, this is the thread for all those who did not enroll at MIT for the coming year. It just seemed like there was a thread here for everyone else and everything else, and I just wanted to say a couple of things before I leave this particular realm of the forum.

First and foremost, THANK YOU x 10^9999999 to all the current students and alumni and MIT staff who regularly browse, read, and respond on this forum. You guys are always around to answer questions and help out with people, and you really don't get thanked enough for spending so much time here. I've seen you guys have to stand up for yourselves, your school, your whole way of living life here, but you still come back and post for people who need help or have questions. Frankly, that is AWESOME. Like, a lot awesome. Lots and lots of awesome.

MIT sounds like a pretty darned awesome place. In the end though, it just wasn't for me, and I'm especially thankful to all the current students/alum who have given me advice here without trying to force me one way or the other. In the end, it all came down to fit, and I definitely love the place I'm heading. (To be fair though, I must confess finances did play a roll as well in my decision. But fear not Daniel Barkowitz, it wasn't THE only deciding factor).

In the end, I think I've made the right choice FOR ME, and that's what matters.

That's the other reason I made this thread. Maybe in a year some kid like me will be able to find this thing and realize that saying "No" to MIT is NOT completely insane, no matter what your friends tell you, if you just fit somewhere else.

So long, and thanks for all the fish! :-)
