So if, to save money i buy textbooks on amazon where do i have them shipped to if I wait until after classes start to order them? How long should i wait before buying the books? How can we figure out from the professor if we REALLY need the book? Like what exactly do I ask if they cant directly say that we dont need the book? And lastly are there any websites that have ebooks for many school textbooks?
When you get to orientation you will get your campus address, which you can ship it to there. Most professors will give you the first week or two until the end of add/drop to get your books, and scan the things you need until then. Talk to previous classmates, ratemyprofessor, and the professor themselves to check if the books are necessary after getting a feel for the class. Some classes use them right away and your professor will be clear about them, in other classes it is more like supplementary and you rarely ever use them. You will kind of know after being in the class for a bit. Make sure that you lock down the schedule of the classes you want to take – you can also buy books from your college facebook groups which will often have them at a much discounted price. Amazon/Kindle could be a good bet for ebooks.
You can also sometimes find books through interlibrary loan at your own library.
Thank you! That helped a lot
