So, no chance now with these SAT IIs?

Ugh, I just got my SAT subject tests scores:

Chemistry 620
Mathematics Level 1 650
Mathematics Level 2 680 (Scoring higher on 2?!?!?...The reason I took level 1 as well was b/c I thought colleges like MIT/Olin (which have a choice of which level) would look at my HIGHER math 1 score! :()

So even with my 33 ACT/4.0 (which means nothing now), and w/ doing nothing "amazing" do I have no shot at MIT, Hahhhhvahhhd (applying b/c of fin aid probably), CMU, Olin, UCs (Berk, LA).

This sucks so much...I think I'm feeling the effects for the first time (in the admissions process) of going to a crappy school. NO ONE (one other person this year) takes subject tests and the curriculum certainly didn't prepare me for them. Man, this sucks.

Also, question: Do schools that "recommend" subject tests actually require them for admission (or penalize for not having them). Obviously, I'm not sending these scores...

Your Math 2 should be fine..Just retake Math 1 and chemistry.

But I'm a senior and I missed the deadline to retake...should I standby? 10 days won't be enough time to prep and I'm doing something really important on the 1st...AGHHHH

Lol yes it is...10 days should suffice. I studied for my Math II 1 day before the test and got a 650.

And yes, do standby

Retake by all means

^ You are going to kill me then if I tell you my scores heh

Definitely retake. Your 4.0 will seem much less impressive given your SAT scores, as they may indicate a low level of rigour with your curriculum.

Haha ajayc, I've seen enough amazing scores on here.

i have a 670 literature and 660 maths 2 c

i can't regive either :(

680 math II and will retake but feel so bad that this will affect ED at Cornell since applying for engineering. any thoughts?

Hey, I got a 640 Math II, don't feel bad. Let's retake and get that 750+ score - 10 days is enough if we cram >D

i am applying for economics major- will that be affected by my maths scores?

To a certain degree, but I think that they would care more about your grades in a math class such as Calculus or AP Calculus.

i wouldn't worry so much unless there really is some huge flaw in your application

a guy last year from my school got into wharton with a 3.8, 2130 SAT, 620 Math1, 590 Math2, and 640 Literature scores. his extracurriculars weren't even that impressive either.

Iam thinking of retaking math level 2 this Jan coz iam taking World this Dec.

iam but really depressed coz if iam taking IT again, i have to get a good grade. Imean, well, for my Math 2(710) , iwas expecting sumthing above 750 coz i never thought i could do it this bad.

Its depressing. I mean, i did study for it and stuff. I got 800 on the official practice tests and stuffs. NOw, i dont have anything else to review. Its depressing to death.

I never thought i could be so stupid. By the way. i didnt tell my mom nor my sis. I told them i got 750. hahaha,
