So now that PSAT scores are back...

who thinks they qualified for National Merit (commended, semi-finalist, finalist)?

I'll start by saying that I think I did! 225!!!!

You obviously got atleast Semi-finalist. 2150 got me that far.

u guys are luck u got the psat scores back.
Oh yeah, can someone explain to me the new college plan thing for the PSAT online. Does it show our scores?

yeah, i just saw that

i think it shows your scores and gives you tips on how to prepare for the SATs and whatnot....

but the thing is, it doesn't work UNTIL you get your PSATs back in the mail (which I haven't yet) because it comes with an access code

what!? when and how did you see your score?

I just got mine. My total score was 235. I was pretty please but surprised at the curve.

Math 80
CR 79 (1 wrong)
Writing 76 (1 wrong - some curve!)

BTW: There's a whole thread about the 2007 SAT.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO -1=76 thats harsh. Thats so dumb cos i think i got like 3-4 wrong that puts me in like 67.

grr my school doesn't give back results for another two weeks! its completely ridiculous!

the PSAT sucks. i just got my score online and i basically did the same in CR and WORSE in writing. perfect score in math, but that doesn't matter, I HATE THE PSAT

if you had scores on line from 10th grade, then your 11th are on line.

Harsh, harsh curves this year. 2 wrong/0 omit in writing = 73?! Ugh.

218 total. i got one wrong in writing, and that gave me a freaking 75. How do they do cutoffs for each year's national merit? is it looking at the lowest score range for the 99th percentile and then making that the cutoff score?

Also- there was a "printing error" for #21 in the writing section.

thanks 4giggles
man! i read a question wrong AND did calculations wrong in math! i feel dumb ><
and a idiom usage in writing. why such a harsh curve this year for writing!?

I have a quick question. There's been word circulating on this forum that the "cutoff" will be 213, 219, blah blah blah.

By "cutoff" do you mean the semi-finalist cutoff? If you make that, does that mean that any one of those people who scored above that cutoff can APPLY for finalist positions?

I'm in DC. Cutoff last year was 223, so I don't know if I made SF or not :(

i took them sophomore year, but i cant find them on the website for junior year. where did you find them 4giggles?

log in here: My College QuickStart
there is a link on the right that says "2007" under "Your Past PSAT/NMSQT Tests"

Wait i took psat last year, but never logged on to the quickstart thing last year. I am typing in my student code found on last years psat but can't seem to go in? help?

209! i know i'm not nmsf (especially since i'm in nj), but i got a 188 last year, and i'm really happy. only thing that makes me mad is that i should've had 76 in math instead of 70 cuz i made a stupid mistake on #15.

cr- 63 (anybody else think this was pretty hard?)
math- 70
writing- 76

basically i'm happy w/ anything above a 70. next stop, march SAT. woohoo!

also, for those that can't find it, i used xjustjackx's link and i found it

Can this be real?! I love you College Confidential and all the knowledge you contain! I'm so excited!!!!!! I was hoping to get over 214 and ended up with a 230!! (Sorry, I'm not trying to brag, I'm just super happy) Proof: You don't need to spend thousands! Just use the blue book and CC! I'm literally dancing in my room!

Curve (Saturday): 80 math, -2 CR 75, -1 Writing 75
