<p>i have my yale interview this friday (i applied regular) and its gonna be my first. i was wondering if you guys had any tips, or just share any kinds of questions that these alum interviewers like to ask. thanks!</p>
<p>Just keep in mind that all Yale gives them is your name, your school, and what you want to major in. You want to tell them everything else. And know that it's just as much an opportunity for you to learn as for them to learn. Most of all, have fun! Break legs!</p>
<p>Some of the questions I ran into in my alumni interview:</p>
<p>-What's your high-school like?
-What interests you?
-What extra-cirriculars do you enjoy, and why?
-Is there anything not on the application you'd like to mention?</p>
<p>It's all pretty straightforward. My interview overall went pretty poorly though... the guy was a psychiatrist, and he started getting into specifics that most alumni don't ask (at least, as I've gathered from the other Yale applicants who had their interviews).</p>
<p>the first question my interviewer asked was "so tell me about your high school. do you like it? how would you change it? do you feel like you want to fit in?" and then we talked a lot about politics and hypothetical situations because i wrote poli sci as my major. youll probably talk a lot about your major and what you plan to do with it after college.

<p>I am always too modest, which became something of a problem - don't be afraid to be amazing, because you are! If there's a question you don't know how to awnser, (for example, my guy asked what course I would take to the exclusion of all others. i'm an all-around girl, I had no idea because they're all integral to eachother!) figure out why you don't know how to awnser it and tell them that instead!</p>
<p>write down 3 adjectives that you think make you exceptional. it helps you organize what you want to present, as opposed to just going in there cold with a bunch of information about yourself floating around in your head.
you might even want make an outline. i just don't want you to forget all the cool things that you want to mention.
