<p>Some schools require a mid-yeasr report, and some do not. The UCs, for example, do not look at mid-year reports for the vast majority of applicants. Some will go through “augmented review” and recieve requests for mid year reports, additional recommendations, and an additional short essay, but there is no way to know ahead of time who will be selected for augmented review. If your mid-year report is not requested by a UC, they will not look at one that you send in - they are very clear about that.</p>
<p>For any privates to which you are applying, if you have an excellent mid-year report go ahead and send it in. If they don’t look at it, you are no worse off, and if they do look at it it may help. Many privates require a mid-year.</p>

<p>Look at the application requirements carefully for the individual Cal States. The majority of them do not request or accept mid-year reports, but there are some where it is mandatory to submit a mid year. <p>Ok cool. My main school is cal poly Pomona and I don’t think they do. Dang, going to make it even harder to get accepted since I am already scared that I won’t get in.</p>
