So I really would like to go to Hofstra. Does anyone know there retention rate? And even if I did get in I would need substantial financial aid. Does anyone know my chances of recieving that? I can probably pay around $10,000 per year. Thanks

According to Hofstra’s website, their one year (freshman to sophomore) retention is 80% and their 6 year graduation rate is 55%

Their average financial aid package is $15,000 but that could be largely loans. Most schools reserve their scholarships and grants for their best applicants. I’m assuming that if you were put on the wait list, that you weren’t in that group, so I would say the likelihood of you getting funds from the school is low, but if you do get off the waitlist you should contact the Financial Aid office right away to see what they are willing to do for you. You never know unless you ask!
