so this is what likely letters sound like

"there is no question that when final decisions are sent in april, you will be offered admission"

that was from dartmouth to my good friend. Sounds like its pretty likely she'll get in haha.

The art of subtlety is dead.

haha for real...

what about getting a course book before i'm even accepted? i've gotten two rather thick books (300ish pages each) from claremont mckenna and no letter. do you think they just like wasting ink and paper?

I got a UChicago coursebook, and then I got deferred.

Coursebooks don't mean anything...

my cousin's likely letter from the engineering school 2 years ago basically said "even though we do not officially notify candidates of our decisions until early april we would like to say you are very likely to gain acceptance."

speaking of coursebooks, can we request one? i really want one. :(

haha u can have mine, im not going to cornell. i have to warn you, cornell's coursebook is freakin huge.

yea i thin u can request a coursebook, cornel sent me one last year

also when I got my likely letter from yale it came with a coursebook so maybe in some cases a coursebook is a sign that they are considering you.

cornells coursebook is like, an encyclopedia. recieving one means nothing, I got one from U chicago before I applied. A likely letter will look like whats posted above evidently

has anyone received one from cornell yet?

i think the freight would be too much. note the word choice: freight, not shipping...

if you poke around the academics section of www.cornell.edu you can find it

Last time I ordered something from Cornell, it cost me an extra $40 in import charges because I live in Canada. Stupid UPS. Cost more than what I ordered.
