I'm applying early action to a school, and I've read about November 1st deadlines for something or other having to do with financial aid, but what exactly has to be in by the 1st?

This might be a question with an obvious answer, but thanks for your help.

You need to follow the financial aid deadline given by the school which you are interested in. Go back to the website as the school will tell you what documentation you need to submit by november 1

Since you are interested in Harvard, they request the following:

CSS PROFILE Application
Complete the 2006-2007 PROFILE online at www.collegeboard.com. Designate Harvard as one of the recipients by using our CSS Code of 3434. (If your parents are separated or divorced, use information from your custodial parent.) Print a copy for your own reference.

Deadlines:

Early Action Candidates: November 1, 2005

you/ your parents submit this information through the college board.

Parents' Federal Income Tax Return

Early Action Candidates : Only if your family's 2004 1040 tax return included income or losses on Schedules C, E, or F, or if your family has an interest in a corporation or partnership, please submit a copy of all 2004 tax forms (including K-1's) to the Financial Aid Office by November 1, 2005.

In short you/your parents must file the CSS profile by november 1 and your parents must submit a copy of their 2004 taxes by November 1.

You/your parents file the FAFSA on-line on jan1 when it becomes available.
