So What Do You Think Are My Chances?

So, one of my friends got accepted to Barnard, but she was ED. We have the same SAT score, but her GPA is a 97 and mine is a 93 (same ability, but she works harder than I do =P). Plus she was absolutely in love with this school. She went to the pre-college thing and her essay was about it and whatever. Still, I’m wondering if I have a chance because we are pretty similar students and go to the same school.

Obviously I know you can’t really make a call based on that, but I figured it might help as an indicator. Here are my stats:

GPA: 93
SAT: 2030 (740v, 600m, 690w)
SAT II: 700 Biology, 640 American
ECs: 4 years of Drama club at my school and two at another, Treasurer of my school’s drama club
4 years Varsity Swim Team
Vice-president of Spanish Club
A few others like Piano and Voice Lessons and officer of the Animal Rights Club my friend (same one that got into Barnard) started
150+ Service hours
8 APs, with 3’s, 4’s and 5’s on the 4 tests I’ve already taken.
National Merit Commended Student and AP Scholar with Honor.

Yeah, Barnard is one of the only schools I applied to that I feel is a high reach, so I was wondering if you guys who have been accepted ED or are more familiar with the school think I have a shot. I’m a white girl from NYC, btw, so my nationality will not be helping me out at all either.

ED, it’s much easier to get into Barnard.

RD, the expectations rise. Your GPA is pretty strong but your SAT scores are a little low. your M should be higher - the other two are fine, though.

Good luck! Join us in the anxiety thread!
