I cant wait, I need to know. Anyone feel like posting what the email or letter said if you were rejected? =X (preferably any regular decision applicant from last year who got rejected)

haha, i can’t imagine there are many NYU applicants from last year who were rejected that are still checking this page

Yeah, I’m expecting to be rejected. 8[

ya i wish I could see it in advance too so it’s not as painful when I actually read it! (hopefully I won’t get bad news, but there’s a huge chance I will, so I want to be prepared!)

good luck, and true almostthere2011, but if anyone does have the email, please post it!

yeah i guess almostthere is right sigh maybe someone could ask around?! lmao i love being this overly paranoid person who’s most likely going to get rejected from stern blagh

haha that’s how i feel too. i’m in such a funk right now! we still have at least a week until we find out!

All rejection letters are similar. It is usually something good and then something devastating.

“Thank you for your interest in NYU. As you know this year we received _______ applicants. New Record! There were so many qualified candidate ect ect. Your application has been carefully reviewed and although you’ve had a strong application, we are sorry to inform you we are unable to offer you admissions. (another apology). Good luck with your college search”.

ummmm

Thank you for your interest …
Many qualified …
Difficult decision …
Unfortunately …

or something like that.

so true, they are all pretty much the same…oh well.

Sarcastic (Fictional) Version:

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in our university. It is our pleasure to inform you that we did not need to offer you a place in the Class of 2015. Faced with so many applicants that we were not even the least bit afraid our admit rate would go up, we simply didn’t have a place for all of the talented applicants who applied. Because our admissions decisions are the product of hours of intense debate, all decisions are final and there is no appeals process.

I understand that this decision may cause you some disappointment, but please understand that I have no time to worry about this as I need to get back to touring high schools so that we receive even more applications next year. I would like to be able to tell you that this decision is not a reflection of your worth (or lack thereof!), but rather, our institution’s needs at this time.

Again, thank you for your interest in this university.

Sincerely,

Lolll! ^^^

when do decisions come out? and is it a login?

decisions come out next friday [april 1st] at 5 p.m eastern time
they’re going to email everyone =X

but since there’s about 50,000 emails/decisions to be sent out, it may take longer if you don’t get your decision by the 4th (check their website, but I think that’s what it said…) then you can call and they’ll tell you your decision. (I think I’d rather read an email than hear it on the phone…that’s so awkward for everyone involved if it’s a rejection!!)

good luck! I hope we find out at 5 on the 1st. I’ll just be checking my email nonstop if it takes longer! this is SO nerve wracking!!!

i’m probably gonna check on saturday, gotta mentally prepare myself lmao

Lol. Me too.

haha ya I’ll probably see it in my inbox and be scared to click on it! Let me know how it goes! I’ll post my results (which I’m 99% sure of…but still I hope I get in!!) I hope we get good news!! :)

I’m indifferent. -_-

Meh. Haha. JK. ****7 more days!!**

I believe once you get into at least 1 school, then it won’t be as tense and you won’t feel as anxious. My biggest fear when I was a high school senior was not going to a decent college. Once I got into at least 1 of the college I applied for admissions, it becomes much easier to face all the other rejections.
