So what's the general consensus...?

<p>Is it true that sophomore transfers to the more competitive private schools (e.g. UPenn, Brown, etc.) have a slightly better chance of getting in than junior transfers? </p>

<p>Also, is it true that some colleges take note of students who have applied two years in a row and are less likely to admit such students by virtue of the fact that they were rejected once already?</p>

<p>I’ve heard that before, but I’ve also heard that more rising sophomores apply to the top schools.</p>

<p>And on the second point, I could see it both ways: it either shows A) continued interest (schools are mindful of their yield rates), or B) given thousands of applications, admissions committees might give a lot weight to their previous decision.</p>
