So when will I hear back?

@asthrera - do what is right for the long run, not what feels right after a long wait. UMN was not trying to annoy you; they have a process so that they don’t over enroll and get the most deserving applicants accepted. If they accepted you, you are most definitely wanted. Congratulations!

@asthrera‌ I’m so happy for you! I’ve been watching your account for months now, and feeling at least a very small share of your anxiety while waiting. I know that a lot of your early passion has faded, but CBS is a great opportunity. Minnesota would be lucky to have a student as devoted as you clearly are.

Decide what’s best for you, of course, but at a minimum, I’m glad that your hard work has been acknowledged. Good luck, and let us know what you decide!

OK, what the heck, how does someone like that with a crummy 3.5 unweighted gpa and a 1980 sat get into CBS but I I get waitlisted? -4.0 uw 2180 sat. someone tell me.

@mrbigmoney, when did you apply?

Hello! I applied in Oct for college of Design and I got waitlisted! :neutral_face:

How long do you have to wait for a response when your application says" Your application is being very carefully considered"?

So in the end I was waitlisted. Should I update my ACT score(which is better) and send my midyear grades?

Yes, for sure!

I just got waitlisted in CLA today according to tracker, but I am still waiting for CSE. I am surprised that i got waitlisted in CLA, so that means CSE must be harder :disappointed: . My GPA is 3.72, and I am an international transfer student.

I applied to the College of Science and Engineering, using a golden gopher application in mid October. I saw no updates in the tracker at all until last week. I checked today and I see a congratulations message stating that I’ve been offered admission to the College of Liberal Arts??! No letter, no email… just a status update… and that too CLA? Way to connect, guys…

In the meanwhile I’ve been accepted into the engineering programs in every other university I applied to (Illinois, Purdue, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Iowa and Iowa State). In my mind, Minnesota was to be a semi-safe school… with Illinois and Purdue being #1 & #2, closely followed by Wisconsin, so I really don’t care anymore… but I can’t help wonder what goes on underground in gopherland…

Hi guys, thank you all for the support. After doing some thinking and talking with some people from the U, I’m about 90% sure I will be attending. I’m planning on visiting in two weeks during my spring break, hoping that will seal my decision to enroll. I’m super excited. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back or have been waitlisted

Asthrera I am so happy that it all worked out for you. I wish you success in your college career. Congratulations again, and well done!

@asthrera‌ Glad to hear it! Feel free to pm me if you need ideas on things to check out while you’re in the Cities. Ski-U-Mah!

Confirmed my enrollment today :slight_smile:
I went to visit the U of M two weeks ago and absolutely loved it!!

So glad to hear it, especially after your long and troubling wait. Congratulations and welcome to Minnesota!! Ski-U-Mah!

@asthrera - was it like 60 degrees for you? :slight_smile:
