So... where are you guys supposed to be?

LOL! (Then there’s no one at our school for her…) Nah, she fared about the same as me… and we were completive with each other.

We also are back together and both chose Cal (independently, too). Still, not a great week, but worth it now I suppose.

Anyway, the more I think about it, the more right I feel at Cal. I mean, location wise, it’s great, academics are great, and so is the food. And lots more. So maybe I feel like I want to be at S sometimes but I think I’m supposed to be at Cal. Screw the Farm for not accepting me!

I never bothered applying to Ivy’s since I didn’t get accepted, but I didn’t expect to get accepted by Cal either. In hindsight, it would’ve been nice to have the opportunity to at least try for an Ivy, but after having visited Cal, I can’t imagine going to a better university that is both prestigious and well-fitting for me.

So where am I supposed to be? Without a doubt, Berkeley.

Besides, nothing beats Nor Cal weather, and I’ve always been a Nor Cal kid.

I’m a SoCal kid, but I love NorCal weather! It’s like SoCal but more refreshing because it’s not so dry overall. :)

I didn’t apply to as many schools in the US as I should have, so didn’t have as much choice as I might have wanted over here. But I did choose Cal over all my acceptances in the UK, including LSE (6% acceptance rate!) and UCL :)

Cal was actually my dream school forever, since I grew up in the Bay Area (40 minutes away from campus). My friends and I all had the goal of getting into Cal together.

However, I feel like I should have gone to UCLA or UCSD instead because I don’t feel like I got the real college experience. My family is so close and my mom works in Berkeley, lol. If I ever needed anything I could always call them and I would go home usually once a month (finals, projects permitting) because my parents made me feel bad if I didn’t.

But when I visited UCLA, I didn’t like it, and I pretty much eliminated UCSD after getting into LA and Berkeley (close-minded decision on my part). And Berkeley Engineering is well, pretty darn good bang for your buck, so I came here.

You came here over LSE . . . . I would’ve chosen LSE in a heartbeat.

Didn’t feel like applying to any non-US schools for undergrad . . .

no one of ivy status would date her because she wasn’t an ivy kid, so she came crawling back to you. c’mon bro, you’re better than that. kick her out the door and never look back.

To be honest I wanted to go to Brown or Georgetown (both schools I got into), but couldn’t afford them. But who cares really I’m pumped to be at Berkeley!

LOL @ cs91, hilarious.

Hahahaha. Crowslayer, That’s great.

In my opinion it takes the smarter student like you to plan ahead and not graduate with a crapload of student debts tacked on to a “fancy” diploma. Great choice.

Berkeley’s definitely better than either Brown or Georgetown . . . on so many different levels.

OTOH, some more expensive schools private generally provide better aid… so Cal ended up being the most expensive option for me… (It was between USC and Cal and USC only offered Spring admission.) Still, I think it’s worth it.

Thanks for the support overachiver1000! I’m pretty happy with my decision!
