so who got into oberlin?

It could be they just don't have your email address, that you never filled it out on a information card or whatever.

Wow - Oberlin is personally calling and emailing admitted students on a Sunday? That is impressive!

aggg!!! this is driving me crazy! Not to mention the fact that I found out at my audition that I haven't been receiving any of the email the conservatory has sent me. It's freaking me out a bit.

This wait is insane, I really hope decisions get mailed thursday.....

Okay, predictions (a pretty pointless way to pass the time)

I'm reasonably sure I'll be admitted. Frankly I'll be a little suprised if I'm not. And if they come through with aid, there's a good chance I'm going.
Anyone else?

Hahaha I'll guess too.

I'm guessing (hoping?) I'll get in, but with little to no merit aid.

I'm somewhat confident I'll be admitted to the college of arts and science. It basically comes down to the conservatory and the degree to which I miserably botched the aural exam. Oberlin becomes a lot higher up on my list if I'm admitted as a double degree student.

The aural exam has no effect on admissions just placement. And it really doesn't count for placement, because they make you take the test again in the fall. i don't know why they bother with it during admissions.
Good luck!

sweet!!! that makes me incredibly happy, since I didn't know I would be taking it that day. For some strange reason, email from the conservatory never gets to my inbox, so I had no idea what the procedure was for auditions. Let me tell you, I felt pretty stupid.

My son called the admissions office at Oberlin about half an hour ago and was told acceptance and rejection letters went out this afternoon at about 2:30 pm. He also asked whether or not they'd also emailed those letters and was told they had not.
We'll know soon!

AHHH cant stand it any longer

Didn't someone say they were mailing them on Thursday? I don't think they did. I get mail from Oberlin in one day.

Yea, rhapsodynshadow, I'm really anxious to hear from the Conservatory as well. I've already heard back from the college (because I applied ED1), but this not hearing back from the Conservatory when my audition was in JANUARY is getting me really NERVOUS.

oberlin played a rather cruel trick on me today. I went to my mailbox and found a thick envelope from the conservatory. Needless to say, I was excited. I tore it open to discover... a recital/concert calendar from the 2004-05 school year. hmmm, I'm confused.

Oh, man... that was SO cruel of them. shakes head in agony

Thanks for telling me. If that happens to me, at least I'll be prepared!!

Dude, I am really nervous about my conservatory result. >_<

what instrument do you play, therainman? Yeah, it's horrible, especially since my friends are hearing back from eastman and nec and curtis... I'll feel kind of inferior if I can't get into oberlin when my friend received her decision from NEC before she walked out of the room and my other friend got a phone call from curtis the night of the day she auditioned asking her who she wanted to study with (and she's a violinist) gahhh.

My son was put on the wait list for Oberlin. Anyone else get their letters yet?
Good luck!

i got my letter on monday, i was accepted :)

I got my letter on Monday and I was accepted + merit scholarship!

I can't decide between Oberlin and Kenyon, though. Is anyone else in that same predicament? I'm also considering Ithaca because they offered me a lot of money...

does anyone have any advice if you got into oberlin but didn't get very much money(5K a year), and really want to go but dont want to be 72 k in the whole when you graduate (my dad is able to pay 20 k a year)
