It's just starting to get icy here (middle part of east texas) and it's absolutely fridged feeling outside (it's 30 and very damp with a slight wind). We only ice ever 3-4 years, so everyone's freaking out. My college is supposed to go back on Wednesday, so I hope everything is cleared up by then!

I live in Kansas City, Missouri, and it is icy here too! I'm kinda anxious because most schools have cancelled school for tomorrow; but mine hasn't! I'm still keeping my fingers crossed though!

The Wii weather thing and The Weather Channel are showing that we're going to get some snow on Wednesday. At least I only have one class that day and can be dropped off near the building! (Hey! Being a commuter does have it's perks! ;))

Ok..so here's an update on my situation...
At least 3/4 of the school districts in my area cancelled school, and my school was one of the few that didn't cancel. The roads weren't really that bad though, so going to school was worth it..I guess..lol.

It really didn't get bad here. TexDOT did have to gravel some of the bridges, and one street that basically is on really long bridge was shut down for a while, but we didn't hit any ice when I just had to go and exchange a textbook.

I'm in Texas, too. Somewhat icy (it was worse this weekend), but overall not too bad. And they thought about cancelling school, but ended up not. Gr...

this was my first time driving my car in the snow! last winter I was driving a big station wagon...
now I have a small car, stick shift, with no anti-lock brakes...
we had quite a bit of snow.

^ What that person said. Though for us, the weather report kept saying we were going to get snow, then changing the forecast before that time came. So by now, the most we're getting is "Wintery mixes"

yup we got iced. 200,000 energy co. customers lost power, baby. we were one of them by luckily we got a permanent generator installed last year and it has been such a blessing. my school's been closed for two days b/c of buildng probems (the heater broke and our power was out).it's pretty awesum.

It's really icy today. Almost all of the schools in the area canceled or let out early today, except for my college. :P I know that a lot of students do live on campus, but the majority are commuters and all of the faculty commutes. So, not a large attendance today from faculty or students.

Hey! I'm from East Texas! lol, sorry...I'm easily excitable.

Well, I'm going to school in North Louisiana now...and we definitely have ice as well. And yeah, every school in North Louisiana got today off (or at least half a day) besides mine. It was irritating.
