So who is definitely going???

Hey guys!
i'm about 99% sure that I'll be attending UCONN next year! To be honest with you, it was def not my first choice, but once I visited, I realized that UCONN truly has a LOT to offer in the sciences. It seems as though research opps are abundant. I was truly surprised when I attended the open house last Saturday. I've been accepted to the honors program as a bio major (will probably concentrate in molecular & cell bio). Anyone else attending?

I'm definitely going, I sent in all my payments and signed up for orientation (1st session). Me I'm going to major in Biomedical Engineering.

I'm definitely going. I'm Honors Program & Combined Program & Dental Medicine. I sent in everything and am now just looking forward to orientation.

Which orientation are you going to?

I haven't heard back yet but my 1st choice was the first one and my other two choices were like the 3rd and 4th or something like that.

I'm going, but I haven't sent my payments in yet (definitely wasn't my first choice, but then based on money and distance....). I'm going to be studying engineering, most likely mechanical, in the Honors Program.

If you go here, http://www.newhusky.uconn.edu/orientation.htm , scroll to the bottom and send em a message by clicking on the red thing they should tell you when your session is.

thanks i'll do that

I'm sending in my payment today, so I have to wait to find out about orientation. It'll be one of the ones in June, most likely.

I was in the bios too at uconn. It wasn't my first choice either but if I had to do it again I would in a second. I loved it and it let me excel in the sciences.
The research is the best around, especially in Chem...
I'm going to Columbia for grad school and I am sure my research at Uconn is a big reason why.

I just got my stuff in the mail today and I'm going to the first session of orientation.

im borderline..it really tempting tho, i just got my letter for the honors program, and the free ride always helps too..who would have thunk it?

its the only school in ct i applied to..i guess ill have to wait till april :(

Is the physics department any good?

I'm definitely going. The honors program seems pretty cool and the opportunities for research are certainly interesting. I plan to major in physics and maybe CS also. About UConn's physics department-- I think you might be surprised at how good it is. Check out

For a sample of some cutting-edge physics research going on at UConn, read a bit about Professor Ron Mallet's work at http://www.physics.uconn.edu/~mallett/
Are any of you guys going to the open house next month?

Yay, I just got in today! I can't say that if im going or not though
