Anyone here going to be attending Villanova?

I will be going.

I am a female from Rhode Island in the college of Commerce and Finance.

how was candidates day? I was not able to make it because I was away.

I'm not going to Villanova.

I was admitted to the College of Commerce and Finance as well...

but I picked Bentley College instead.

I'm trying to choose between Nova and Vanderbilt and I have absolutely no idea which to pick.. why did you pick Nova?

Well I didn't pick it because for what I wanted to do Villanova was strong but not as strong as I would have liked. Also there is no diversity (in people) or in thought. Plus Bentley, is gaining in reputation and is becoming much more selective while being an awesome busiss school at the same time.

I think you should go to Vanderbilt which is just at a much higher level academically then NOVA

I agree with Dunkaroo, 'Nova is really no match academically to Vandy. I was also accepted and offered a scholarship, but the total package was still lousy, I'm going to the College of the Holy Cross.

yeah Villanova although it is good will need to move from the Master's Universities North rankings list to either liberal arts or national universities and at the same time diversify itself and drop its acceptance rate if it wants to move near the likes of BC or Notre Dame, Georgetown etc...

It accepts nearly 58% of applicants and acceptance rate is by no means an indication of academic quality but diversity is what holds a lot of people back and I chose Bentley over Villanova and diversity was one of my reasons for doing so.

Clearly Villanova is more well known and a better school overall. The rankings speak for themselves and so do the SAT scores etc... but if you can't get a chance to interact with those that you will need to interact with (not all white upper-middle class Catholic people) in the business world then I don't think it is worth it.

Holy Cross I would say is at a level above Nova in terms of the Catholic schools good choice maxbro!

I was accepted but I can't choose between Villanova and Boston College. I like 'Nova's sense of community and I love the campus. They also have one of the top track teams in the nation and I would attempt to walk onto the team. Boston College is ranked in the top 40 in the nation and I'm not sure that Villanova even compares academically. BC didn't have that same sense of community and the campus was very spread out. Their track program is not as good and I probably would not have the opportunity to walk onto it either. I just don't know which to choose...

well I don't think track should be your deciding factor. Boston College is definetely way better academically and I don't think Villanova even makes it's case for comparison.

BC has Boston minutes away it is a fantastic school.
