it’s an experience, but not something i’d do twice (read: pay twice) unless i got to see a lot of my old friends again

I’ve been on that boat 3 times and have a lot of great memories there haha - my senior prom and the 2 years I lived in dorms. There’s 2-3 dance floors that always play pretty good music and you get some pretty gorgeous views of SF/golden gate from the decks. Don’t worry about getting a date, but do try to convince your friends to go. Definitely should experience it at least once ;)

are people actually getting dates for this?

Just get some friends and have fun lol. I remember some people getting dates and making the whole asking out process formal, but that always seemed silly to me.

dude i’d go if some freshman in the dorms invited me ;)

lol, why are people making this seem so formal? a bunch of my girlfriends and some guy friends are going. we weren’t really aware people were bringing dates haha

haha yeah i want to go but my close group of friends aren’t going… i have other friends who are going but they’re all going with their floormates or their close group of friends, so would it be weird if I asked if i could join them?

I want to ask, but I don’t want to impose on them either… :

you can go with them and just do you own thing when you get there. i mean it’s not like you have to stay with the people you go there with. there are many floors of dancing or chilling, use it however you want.

whether or not you’re going to the boat dance, there’s a really cool renaissance faire going on in auburn on may 8th and 9th (mothers day weekend!) and is super worth the trip. it’s called cains crossing renaissance faire …i went last year, super fun.

yay for swords, kilts, and thick celtic accents!

haha i ended up going with my friends from church… had a lot of fun!! wish i could go again next year~

The boat dance reeks of ‘high school freshmen.’ Seriously, isn’t one of the advantages of college not having to deal with that prom crap?

dang dude. let’s not sound any more bitter now haha

Sorry hahaha. I guess that was a bit out of nowhere.

But seriously. Watching everyone get ready reminded me of high school. To each their own!

It was high school-esque but still pretty fun. I actually snuck on despite not having a ticket. Err well, I had a ticket, but not my own. It was my roommate’s, and they wouldn’t let us transfer the ticket. We look nothing alike and somehow I got through both ID checkers. (Hardcore) ;).
