Veteran's day is on Tuesday. For some odd reason, we get Monday off as well (I'm not complaining).

So on Saturday, I think (might be friday night, have to confirm this), I'm going to Vegas with my cousins and chill there for a couple days (last time I went there, they kicked me out in the gambling/casino section...this time it won't be so easy). Lots of shows, tours, and stuff; I know a lot of you people are East-Coasters, so if you haven't heard of Vegas, let's just say it's a sight...especially in some areas where most of the people on here wouldn't begin to imagine, I believe.

Anyways, what are you doing on veteran's day?

On a larger perspective, what do you do on holidays / days off? I guess we could talk about Thanksgiving/Christmas here, but I believe they deserve separate threads and is not the direction where I'm going - I'm going more towards the No-school-free-day, where it's typically 1~2 days I guess.

I had to make this. One more day and it's paradise for a good 4 days.

I'm going to go to school on veteran's day. We unfortunately don't have it off. ;[

From everything I've heard Vegas is quite a boring town to be in, unless you like casinos and the like. Besides that, there's supposedly not much to do there.

On extended breaks that don't need to be celebrated with the family, I think (now that I have a car) that I'd drive somewhere and do some more extensive hiking... maybe up north to Sedona/Flagstaff or something, sleeping out in my car and climbing mountains when it suits me. Preferably with friends, although all of my friends are so sheltered that their parents never let them go anywhere with me. :[

We've planned a Grand Canyon through hike for Spring/Easter break though, so that should be fun, and I'm trying to set up a possible overnight thing over thanksgiving break near home so we can do something we otherwise wouldn't be able to do and still spend the holiday with our families.

Back before I had a car, I would rent a video game from blockbuster and play it over the vacation time and do smaller nearby hikes intermittently.

Wow, people have school off for Veterans Day? Lucky. We don't, because this week is the NJ Teacher's Convention so no school on Thursday and Friday! I guess another Tuesday would be too much...

Anyways, for most vacations I just travel along the East Coast. I used to do a lot of Hiking with my parents but not so much anymore....

I went to Vegas once when I was little. According to my parents it was amazing...I dunno I just remember some circus thing that I saw.

yeah, we only get Tuesday off too....but it sucks anyways cause I have to be at work monday night and all day tuesday.
they could just give use monday and tuesday...
oh, well...at least i get a little more time for my wonderful 50 hr+ history project (s)
But, I have to admit I probably won't be doing work...most likely just hanging out with friends, definitely eating, etc.

BLEH, yes I have school Monday and Tuesday.. and Wed Thurs Friday as usual.

Lolololol. "if you haven't heard of Vegas"?!?!??! Huuuuh? lol.

Sadly, I have to start working on my sci fair project. I have to solder a bunch of connections together and basically make a USB charger. Afterwards I may hang out with some friends and play some video games. We actually got last tuesday off for election day (which I was surprised about but extremely happy) and went to an election day party.
