So...

Admissions officers of some schools DO look at CC. (My husband being one of them).

Sadie2-
Great advice, thank you so much!
:)
I already have a list of schools I want to look into to, so now I just have to get some sort of hook.
I think that it will be better to start BS in 10th, but I'm kind of worried that I'll miss out on a huge part of the experience--which is stupid, I know.

make sure you put miss hall's on that list ;)

zoe.......you can always redo 9th and get the whole 4-year experience! Very common.

How common is it, keylyme? I'm planning on going in as a junior and graduating a year later. It seems pretty difficult to do it all in a year.

There is a thread about it on here somewhere which referenced a recent article. The numbers were quite high. My son, who is a repeat, has 4 good friends who all repeated....three did one year of 9th at their public school, one did two years of 8th grade (one at a public school and one at a private school). These are only his close friends; the dorm advisor told me there were more. So, that is just out of 40-50 boys.

Zoe, I could not go to the school I got accepted into because of FA-
I totally agree, I am excited for another application process, as crazy as that sounds.
A whole new list of schools, NO procrastination, more concentration on school grades, etc.
:D
i hope that you arent too upset anymore about EW :]

Emmers- I'm definitely considering MH! I actually e-mailed them asking if they have any openings for fall '08, just for the heck of it. I'm excitied about doing this all over, but at the same time I'm still dreading a year at public high school.

Keylyme- I feel very conflicted--do you think I'd miss out on a lot of stuff by starting BS in 10th?

Aspirant94- What school is that?
My God, I'm glad at least one person doesn't think I'm crazy for being excited!
:)
I'm not too upset anymore, just very dissapointed.
I'm sure you know exactly how I feel.

ahahaah
it was nmh :P
im disappointed as well.
:(

jumpstartzoe,

Don't worry about starting BS in 10th grade. There are many reasons to repeat ninth grade but getting a more complete BS experience is not one of them.

but then you are a year behind everyone, and why would you want to repeat everything?

Ages vary by quite a bit in bs. You are definitely not "a year behind everyone". There are a good number of kids who repeat, and there are some kids who might have done a year of readiness back in first grade. And you certainly don't repeat everything. My son repeated and he is ahead in most classes.

hey zoe, why don't u tell everyone the good news?:D

my son applied and accepted with enough in 9th grade. We went through the same you went through last year.

We had more experince and prepare the process He will be Woodberry Forest. I think it is better choice than any schools which accepted him.

Trust you faith and just do this next year.

Good luck.

good news? now i'm excited. : )

Did everything work out for you after all? No matter what, good luck with everything! (Though with your personality, luck seems to be unneeded.) :)

If you are indeed applying for next year, I would recommend that you go directly into 10th. Some friends of mine have transferred like this without any problem, and since you only miss one year at boarding school, I doubt that it would take away very much from your overall experience. Then again, it's your choice.

Again, good luck with everything! :)

????? (ten characters) ;]

tell us, ntmngoc or zoe!

buummp! i really wanna know...

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on in so long!
Anyways, the good news is that I'm going to Emma!
Basically what happened was I wrote this long letter to them before I got rejected for the FA back in May. Then a month ago I got a call from the director of admissions telling me that the letter was so amazing he showed it to the board of trustees and they voted to give me an almost full scolarship.
:D
