The school I'm hopefully going to (waitlisted for FA) had their revisit day yesterday.
I couldn't go.
On the website they said "everyone had a great time getting to know us and each other!".
So, I'm just worried that when I (hopefully) go on the first day, a lot of people will already be bonded.
I can't imagine everyone was able to attend who got accepted, but still...I just feel like I missed out on a lot.
Am I crazy?
Any words of wisdom to cheer me up?

First off, if you get in I doubt you'll be the only one off the waitlist who couldn't go. Second, these people spent about 12 hours together tops. They aren't going to be best friends yet. And I'm sure, if you have confidence, they'll be willing to meet you. Good luck getting back in!

We went to a revisit day and my son didn't bond with anyone. Don't worry!!

My son did not bond with anyone...other than maybe getting to know the student he shadowed a bit.

Jumpstart, I am not going to any revisit days either. I don't think it will matter one way or another come September. I hope you get off the waitlist. What school is this?

Thanks everyone, I definitely feel better now.
And KitKat, the school is Emma Willard.
I got waitlisted for money, which sucks because even though I got in, I might not be able to go!

I'm in the same boat, jumpstartzoe- I was accepted into NMH (my dream school, actually) but waitlisted for FA. D:

Isn't it the most terrible thing in the world (aside from getting rejected or waitlisted for admission)?!
I'm just doing trying everything in the book to improve my chances right now.

It's really nerve-wracking- and as I only applied to the one school, I don't know what I'll do for next year if I can't go to NMH. Yikes.

Isn't the remaining financial aid awarded by need, though?

Same with me!
If I don't get the aid, I'm stuck at a public school in Florida.
Ughhhhh.

I honestly have no idea, but it can't hurt to really show interest in the school, right?

I'll be stuck homeschooling. I left public school because it was so awful!

It can't hurt, you're right! And I hope for both our sakes we get the FA we need. :)

I'll be praying to the boarding school gods for both of us!
Hahahahaha.
:D

because of my distance away from the school i'm attending next fall i can't go to any revisit days.
so i'm in the same boat as you =)
well not completely in the same boat..maybe i'm half in your boat and half in mine

I don't think that's humanly possible!
Hahahaha.

Yes you are crazy. No one really bonds until the first week of school.

You might already know this, but for the first couple days of school there are multiple get-to-know-each-other events and that is more where the bonding takes place, not at the revisits. The person you are shadowing is the only one you will really get to know very well, so don't worry about not going to the revisit. You haven't really missed the "bonding" with your classmates-to-be.

First off, revisits were initially for those who haven't made up their minds yet so not everyone will even be there. Second, you don't really spend THAT much time with the other students. Finally, a lot of people who enroll don't go to revisits. Don't worry you will be fine. I just got back from one and I only bonded with one person who I had met at the interviews :)
