I just got a lovely handwritten letter from the Head Soccer Coach at Wellesley, saying that:

"Wellesley Soccer aims to go further in 2005-2006 and we would like you to bea part of this growing Wellesley soccer tradition. You would make an important contribution to our development and bring a new level of intensity to our highly competitive program. We are tremendously excited at the now very real possibility of you selecting this top liberal arts college to pursue your academic and athletic career ambitions."

I'm very flattered, but VERY confused. I did play soccer...for one season when I was six. I had a great time, and don't get me wrong, if Wellesley would actually let me on their team, but I haven't actually touched a soccer ball in a good 10 years now and never said ANYTHING about it on my application.

LoL.. that's awesome lindseylujh! That's actually pretty darn cool, and I'm w/ you on having never touched a soccer ball for like 10 years, but would still be flattered if I got something like that. Anyways, if they want you, then hey, why not? :-)

wow, I just got a basketball letter! I played for four years in high school.. but definitetly not interested in college.. I was very confused as well!

My daughter who would like to crew, but only has experience with paddling out-rigger canoes, emailed the coach early on and never heard back... they need a better brand of coffee.

I got an email from the lacrosse coach and a letter from her. I never thought of playing lacrosse in college, except maybe as a club sport. Weird.
