Okay, incase you guys haven't read my past posts, I want to go to boarding school so bad. The problem is, my parents said a stern NO. So I have a question. I'm going to try a year to convince them and maybe apply next year. But the problem is, I don't wnt to start junior year. Is there any way I can go to boarding school, and repeat 10th grade?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure a lot of people repeat 10th grade.

Yes it definitely happens. In some cases it's even encouraged--in particular with athletes.

Ok thankss. Idk if i'm considered an athlete. I'm an amazing soccer player, playing since I was like 5. I played travel until 8th grade, when I got sick, and then couldn't play this year cuz of family problems. But I'm doing varsity soccer next year.

At least of our tour guides this year were seniors who repeated thier 10th grade year.

soccerstar....go to the school's website and fill out a "prospective student-athlete" form (I don't know if Andover has that available on their site; a lot of schools do). Fill in all of the info, coaches' numbers, stats, etc. They will contact you if they are interested.

soccerstar - Find out which schools really focus on their soccer programs. My son plays soccer, but lax is his passion. We found out after filling out a student questionaire that one of the schools cares alot about soccer and very little about lax, They asked for a video and a letter from the coach. So you never know who might be interested.

Well the prob is that I haven't played since August (camp). I did play travel and plan on playing varsity next year. But to hear that I stopped, isn't too impressive to highly selective schools. (They were for reasons I couldn't do anything about). But I don't want to go to a specialty soccer school, it's not wat I want to do when I'm older. haha.

I'm repeating 9th because of my strong swimming. Haha. The coach wants a super strong swimmer in the freshman line-up!!
I've gotta leg up on the competition now!! :)

But aside from athletics, I'm also young for my grade. By repeating, it gives you more leadership opportunities that look good when it comes to college time!

Hahaha crickett its so weird talking to you now on CC.

Haha!!! It is!!!
Have you friended any other CC-ers?

what reason do your parents give for not letting you go?
