Hi . I am a new to this forum to get the insight that I can't get on college tours.
I am in my junior year of high school (which sucks BTW ) . Any ways while looking at colleges I was specifically drawn to Smith College , I love open curriculum program and the location everything seems to be perfect.

The only catch . It's an all girls school.

I am in a co-ed school currently and as it is here I'm not too great with interaction with guys and I'd like to be more social with them. I went on the tour during summer and the guides were saying that it's not like I'll never see a guy again , but I want to know the perspective of the students , outside classes , what is social life like ? What about the party scene ?

I don't want to around like some sort of skank , I really don''t . I really like this college and will probably attend it if I get in , I just want to know how my interaction with the opposite sex will be if I attend Smith College.

If there is another thread pertaining to this topic please direct me to it .

I’m sure there are current and former students who will respond to you, but I just wanted to let you know that there are no girls at Smith College, only women.

You’ll find a lot of threads about this if you look through the Smith forum here.

But basically, going to a women’s college is not the same as going to a co-ed college. You won’t have the same volume of opportunities. It’s just a fact. That being said, Smith is not a convent. Guys come there to take classes, they come there to go to parties. You’ll have the opportunity to go to other campuses too for parties and also for classes. If you participate in a student activity, you may meet up with other students in hte same activity on other campuses, including male students. If you’re in a singing group or orchestra, you may have concerts with a male or coed group or orchestra.

The social life at Smith goes way beyond just the opportunities you have for co-ed interaction though. Smith has an active social world in its own right, both single sex and co-ed.
