What do students at Princeton do in the way of social activities/to have fun? How much fun do students at Princeton really have? Or do they study all day? When I visited I didn't see one person smiling, and people were walking around like zombies (I'm not kidding). Maybe it was just a bad day. Any insight from current students would be appreciated.

curiously, yet another first-time poster asking about princeton social life, and slipping aspersions into an ostensibly open question.

Um. Ok. If it makes you feel better I'll rephrase the question: "What social advantages does Princeton have over other schools? Do the students enjoy their time there?" I'm a prospective student trying to find out more about Princeton...the purpose of this post was for me, and other people like me who are also interested, to learn more about Princeton, not for people to flame me. Thank you.

in that case, here's a good starting place:

feel free to post any specific questions you might have about princeton social life here. in the future, though, please do be careful about making negative statements about a school on its own forum - particularly in the form of a new thread. as i'm afraid you've already seen, it can come across as flamebait, and many of us here and elsewhere treat it accordingly. good luck with things.

The students walking around like zombies may just be seniors frantically trying to finish their theses, which are due in a month or so.

Just a hypothesis. When I visited, the students were generally very friendly and cheerful and happy to show me around. Then again, I didn't visit during the academic year.

are there any clubs around princeton?

There are the eating clubs: beautiful mansions by day, crazy dance clubs by night. Free admission. Gotta luv it.

And yeah, people have definitely been known to walk around campus like zombies. The work's intense and getting to class at any time during the day can be a trial, hah.
