Social life at Wake Forest..and compare to Davidson

^^^agreed.

Outside of frats, there are plenty of off campus house parties and dorm life has plenty of “activity”. S has found it to be very social, including drinking if you choose, outside of the frats.

One thing that recently surprised me was S has been invited to sorority date functions and formals without being in a frat. I thought that would have been the exclusive stuff where sororities and frats are closely aligned. He told me it happens all the time. Glad to here that.

@rickle1 ,I think a student’s experience vis a vis Wake Forest and Greek life will vary widely depending on whether they are male or female. A larger percentage of female Wake Forest students pledge sororities than male students do. So, male non-Greek students are more in demand socially and more likely to be included in Greek activities than female non-Greeks, because of that imbalance. And inclusion (or not) in a sorority for sure will affect a female student’s social experience at Wake (whether her parents say it does or not).

Won’t disagree. I simply don’t know. I do know , however, that some of my kid’s best friends are girls in his dorm that are not in sororities. They have a tight group that is basically inseparable. 10 or 12 guys and 6 girls, none are Greek. They kind of formed their own brotherhood and also are in plenty of clubs, service and business fraternities.

It’s all good!
