Social life for Freshman living off-campus?

Hello,

McGill Rez is unfortunately super expensive and I was wondering whether it could be another possibility to live off campus. Yet, as I'm an Int. Student, I would come from far away and wouldn't know much of anyone!

I've found a big room in a beautiful house not too far away from campus for half the price of Rez but what worries me is what social life will I have living on my own? Will I still make new friends quickly? Will I be included in social events?

I'm just worried about feeling too lonely by myself.. if any person who was in my situation in the past could comment it'd be nice:)

Thank you!

Join the Off-Campus Fellow Program (http://www.mcgill.ca/students/housing/offcampus/fellows</a>) - it’s a program for all first-year students living off-campus. They hold a lot of events during the year so you’ll be able to find folks that are in a similar boat as you.

Also join a few clubs(http://ssmu.mcgill.ca/clubs-services/about-clubs/clubs/</a>) or organizations (like TVMcGill, McGill Daily, etc.). Always found those avenues the best way to meet people.
