Hi I have heard many of the rumors of non existent social life at UCSD?
Can someone please let me know if this is true?

Yeah 35 views and no replies…I think this sort of answers my question then lol.

Sorry, I’ve just answered this a couple of times already, and I’m getting tired of writing the same thing over and over again.

No, the rumors are not true. You can have as active or as inactive a social life as you want at any school. UCSD is not typically known for partying mainly because there’s no traditional Greek row (although there are plenty of active fraternities or sororities, if you’re into that), there’s no football team (so there’s not tons of pre-gaming/tailgating/etc on game days), and the parties don’t usually flood the campus. But whatever you want to find, trust me, you can find it. If you want to party every weekend, totally do-able. If you want to go clubbing all the time, entirely possible. If you want to go hiking or surfing or kayaking or camping or other outdoorsy things, also possible. If you’re more of a movie and dinner with friends, that’s good to. If you want to do all of the above in a weekend, also possible. I mean, every college is going to be what you make of it.

If you stay in your room all of the time, then you will have no social life at any school. If you go out and do things you enjoy with people you like, then yup, you’re gonna have a social life.

People are just ignoring your statement of a non-existent social life. It’s clearly not true that any university has a social life that is “non-existent”. It’s like coming in and saying “I heard you guys are losers. Is that true?” We get that a lot and it’s annoying.

It depends on what you want out of social life at UCSD, it has not kept kid #2 from partying.
