whats the social scene like at mcgill?
how often do people go out? are college athletics big? concerts?
and whats the dating scene like?

well McGill is located in downtown Montreal. That says volumes about the social scene. The legal drinking age is 18. Clubs are plentiful and within short walking distance of Mcgill. Though due to the workload, after frosh those serious about academics can really only afford to go out on say a Friday night.

College athletics aren't that big, I mean, McGill has teams in most sports and people come out to support them, but in general other than hockey Canadian scohols arent' that interested in sports. But I still find it fun to go to some of the games.

Lots of concerts, in english and in french. Most major bands include Montreal on their tour...there's also a great underground music scene here, including many young artists and bands and students. Some truly awesome and cheap concerts out there.

Dating scene as far as I've observed has been quite good....though I wouldn't recommend using this as a criteria to judge a school by ;)

if you're looking for fun, McGill's the place. Just visited earlier this week and I loved it.

this is kinda off on a tangent but when i used to live in toronto, omg my friends and i despised the french canadians! i mean if they wanted to become independent, we weren't gonna stop them! but now...so many years later, i can't believe that i might actually go to school in quebec. and when i think about partying and having fun in montreal, it just doesn't make sense why i hated quebec so much before.
