Social Sciences at Emory?

Hello,

I know Emory is known for its amazing Poli Sci program but I read somewhere that that program begins in your 3rd year- I really don't want to take irrelevant core classes for 2 whole years ><. I am also interested in IR- is Emory a good place for that at all?

I'm having a really tough time choosing between Emory and Boston College. To my dismay, both schools gave me like the same amount of money and have made it even harder for me to choose. I think the one thing that worries me the most is the Frat scene. Although I realize that there are other groups, it still concerns me especially since BC has 0% Frats (Catholic school)

Thank you!

I’ve seen Emory ranked as high as top 30 in the WORLD for political Science. In my opinion… Boston (it didnt specify college or university… two different places) was ranked like 140th. That’s a huge difference. Besides, on almost every level apart from sports, Emory>BC.

There are a decent amount of core requirements, but you can spread them out throughout your four years.

You can definitely take poli sci entry level courses from the beginning.
