Good evening everyone!
As some could see I’ve been seriously considering renting a space in new resort style living facilities in my college town. Well there are 2 different companies actually, and the other I was looking into actually has fully furnished apartments with everything in all rooms that you would need. With the cheapest rate here it would be $484 a month for basically renting your bedroom and sharing the space with other roommates. This rate has ALL utilities included in it however, no additional costs necessary. (Except a deposit of course.) Seems cheap but in another way is kinda expensive but fits the college lifestyle. Just an outdoor pool and courtyard at this place and a sky-deck along with a spacious lounge.
Also talked with my adviser the other day planning for the future semesters of classes I’d be taking. It looks like campus classes would likely be M/W/F mornings but would start at 8:30 and a couple online classes. Though these classes could be pretty involved with either needing proctors for exams or group projects so that’s one factor I considered, and since people need to put their own time and effort into online classes it might be worth spending less time driving perhaps?
I would only travel back home for a Tues. or Thurs. during the week IF NECESSARY. Only if there is a need to work or something but that’s it. So maybe 2-3 week days a month of additional driving. Any other time I’d just stay put Monday-Friday. Weekends traveling home would stay as is (whether it’s 2,4 or 6 days) since that’s when I work a lot more heavily.
Still totally considering all the details before committing and applying and signing a lease type of thing. I wouldn’t expect my parents to pay my rent since I do have enough funds stacked up to cover it. They already take care of my tuition as it is.
Just something to think about since commuting a half hour one way 3 days a week this whole year is starting to wear me down some. I sometimes think a certain living situation should last just a full academic year then do something different for the next year.
