Hi guys! If you are reading this thread you are probably interested in applying to NYU Stern, and you should be it is a very well respected business school in one of the most exciting cities on earth!

Here is one key thinghas its I picked up as a Stern applicant, Stern is one of the only undergrad business schools own committee to look at applicants. Meaning your application is read by Stern application readers not just the NYU readers as a whole. To my knowledge no other top undergrad b-school is like that. For example if you apply to Wharton, your app is read by the Penn readers and the Wharton school has little to no say. What this means for Stern applicants is that if you show an extraordinary passion for business it can go a long way. I know it really helped me! I had less than stellar grades (3.4UW), decent scores 2240 (1510 CR+M), but really unique and distinguished business ECs. This does not mean if you do not have business ECs you will not get into Stern, it just means that if you have them they help and can make your app stand out. Also, if possible, be very specific in your essays! I talked about a Stern professor whose works I had used in some finance research in one of my NYU supplements and I think it showed my knowledge and passion for the school. I am not saying my way is the formula you should follow as an applicant, but rather do not give up hope you have one weak part of your app.

It is safe to say I had a lot of ups and downs during the application process, but in the end it all worked out and I couldn't be happier with the result. So to future applicants; do what you love and you will end up in a place that is best for you.
