Some B's. Bleh.

I know it's kinda lame lol. BUt I had to be out for a few days due to an injury and had a delay in getting my doctor's note. Those combined absences resulted in me getting a B due to some wierd grading policy at our school.

Gym doesn't count in our GPA but shows up on our transcript. My rank won't be impacted though.

My problem is though, I 've been a pretty much straight-A student all through high school with the exception of two B's second semester junior year in very hard classes. I got a perfect GPA first semster of last year though. Now, I am a senior who was a deferred applicant at Penn's Huntsman program and I got two more B's this semster in Calc and Physics (easily known as the two hardest APs in our school). SO my midyear report has three B's - gym (ugh), calc, and physics (bleh). Is this the kiss of death???

I was ranked in the top 1 percent of my school....and I think I still should be around that..

It is most certainly not the kiss of death, even for Penn. If they were C’s and not B’s, then maybe.

Would two C’s be a “kiss of death” IF my average GPA is a 4.2? Would they be willing to forgive this blemish if they see I have A’s in my AP courses and pretty much all of my of my other courses? (check out my Chances thread for the full explanation http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-pennsylvania/853840-chance-me-please.html</a> ). I’m just a little worried since someone hinted that C’s might be the kiss of death.

does penn look at weighted gpa? or unweighted? and also, do they look by the 4.0 system or straight grades?

hey im in like a very similar position…i hope it doesn’t hurt!

It’s definitely been hard this year!
