some Hofstra questions...

i've been accepted into hofstra and i went to a student admitted day recently. Everything seemed cool, and I really liked what I saw in the communication area. I'm really worried about the people though- I wasn't able to get much of a sense about the people around me in the 3 hours I was there. I've heard the girls are snooty and the guys are arrogant. I'm from Vermont where everybody is just happy and laid back, and im worried I won't fit in at all with these long island people. I feel like im able to get along with anyone, but please tell me if it will be different here. I NEED SOME HONEST ADVICE so pleeeeasse help!! Thanks.

If you feel uncomfortable, and unsure, then spend a couple of days there. Ask them to put you up for an overnight. There is a lot of truth to what you say, but there are also very nice, friendly students as well. You should be able to easily find people that are friendly. Also, I noticed that there are fair number of kids from the New England states.
