Well I got accepted to Rensselaer Polytech, and I'd like to know if the school is actually worth the 40k I'll be owing the bank. I heard its good for computer science for which i applied to at the school. I'm also wondering how the life is there, is there absolutely nothing to do because its located in Troy, New York. Well I guess I should have researched a lot more before applying but thats too late to fuss over now.

Check out princeton review's site. You'll have to make an account, but it answers most of your questions.

According to the Princeton Review Rensselaer is #2 for More to Do on Campus. They have tons of stuff to do on campus probably because Troy isn't really a college town. But actually now that I think it is right next to Albany and it is in the Capital District and that area is definitely a college area. There is something like 15 schools in that immediate area so there is tons to do in Albany and with the other schools and then Rensselaer itself offers a lot right on campus. So I would say its a good bet - can't hurt to look into it more or ask some questions to the people there though if your still unsure. Hope that helps!

As far as I know from what I've heard, RPI is a very good school that would be worth the cost. But you're better off asking someone else for the specifics.

you should definitely visit. being on campus and talking to students should help you get a better idea.

Hey I am a student at RPI and I can say that I would definitely agree with the review that there is a lot to do. We have so many clubs, sports, greek life, etc that if you can't find something to do here you never will. I do go into Troy, there is stuff to do there (not like NYC or anywhere like that) but there is still stuff to do. Also most of us go into Albany to really hang out. That is the big meeting place and it is a lot of fun. I definitley made a good decision and I don't regret it at all.
